In St John 17 Jesus spoke several times of the believers that had been given to him by the Father. He prayed to be glorified as the Son of God; he prayed for restoration; he prayed for the safety of the believers as they come into the knowledge of the truth throughout every generation called; he prayed for spiritual unity among the believers in that the world may believe; he prayed that the believers will be with Him in Heaven and share His glory.
It is Christ Jesus who commits the believer to the Father for safe keeping, so that the believers’ security will rest upon the Father and His faithfulness toward His Son Jesus. No man can come to me (Jesus), except the Father which sent Jesus draws him (St John 6:44). And because our security rests upon the Father we are assured that we can “cast our cares upon him for he cares” (1Peter 5:7). This is our assurance and reassurance which is guaranteed. Thank you Lord Jesus.
The prayer that Jesus prayed in St John 17 was an eternal prayer. This prayer will cover every generation to come, who has been given to Jesus from the Father. We should pray always and don’t give up on an answer, because it will come. Contact Evangelist T. Hall, Personal Touch International Ministries to read this message in its entirety.
